Call for OAH panelists on immigration and citizenship

(Feb 29, 2012)

Two panelists  and one commentator are being sought for a panel on immigration and citizenship at  the Organization of American Historians  annual meeting in San Francisco in April, 2103. The panel will explore the development and enforcement of citizenship policies in the United States, particularly in ways that have circumscribed boundaries of national membership on the basis of race, gender, sexuality, allegiance, etc. The chair's  paper will explore the phenomenon of citizenship loss (denaturalization and expatriation) in twentieth-century United States.

Please send brief abstracts to the chair, Kritika Agarwal (kritikaa@buffalo.edu), as soon as possible.
