Sicilian Songs of the Sea @ Stony Brook

On Thursday, April 12, 2012, the Stony Brook University Center for Italian Studies presents Sempri amMari, a concert performance dedicated to the sea of Sicily. The concert, a project of the AquaAria Group, features maritime songs, fishermen’s chants, legends of the sea, love songs and celebratory dances. In performance are vocalists/instrumentalists Michela Musolino, Vincenzo Castellana, and Giuseppe Severini. The concert is presented in collaboration with the Office of the Alfonse D’Amato Chair in Italian and Italian American Studies.

The schedule:
Thursday, April 12
11:20 am to 12:40 pm: seminar with students and faculty exploring the origin/ importance of this research project
2:20 pm to 3:40 pm: concert performance: Sempri amMari
All are invited. Free and open to the public.
