IASA Calls

The Friends of the Italian American Studies Association (IASA) Program

Each year IASA sponsors an international conference, publishes significant scholarly work in Italian American studies, and offers scholarships and travel stipends to students working in the field. The Friends of IASA Program allows members and others to making lasting contributions to IASA and to the field of Italian American studies.

Friends’ Circle

Those giving at the level of Patron or above are acknowledged by having their names on our website; in the newsletter; in the annual conference program; and are invited to attend the annual conference and all its functions as our guests.

Those giving at the level of Sponsor or above will also receive complimentary Life Membership to IASA.

All gifts may remain anonymous, of course.


  • Friend — Up to $500

  • Patron — $500 or greater

  • Sponsor — $1000 or greater

  • Benefactor — $2000 or greater

  • Sustainer — $3000 or greater

You may choose to support the following in your name (or in the name of another, or anonymously) by donating the minimum indicated below. By doing so, you become a member of the IASA Patrons Fund, with its attendant benefits.

  • $500: Supports travel to an annual conference of one graduate student panelist, noted in conference program.

  • $1,000: Supports travel of keynote speaker; the speakership at that year’s conference can be named.

  • $1,500: Supports a special session at the annual conference, one designated by the IASA Executive Council. This could be a special film screening, keynote panel, or other event of particular importance to the conference theme.

  • $2,000: Supports publication of the annual conference volume, and includes acknowledgment in the volume, on the IASA website and newsletter, and in the conference program. The namer also receives three complimentary copies of the volume.

  • $2,500: Supports an opening reception at the annual conference; and includes acknowledgment in the conference program, and on the IASA website and newsletter.

In addition, we welcome larger amounts to fund a college scholarship or ongoing prize in your name. Please contact IASA President George Guida (gguida@citytech.cuny) to discuss opportunities.
